Looks good. I have a short layover between coming in from London and going to Cancun. It seems virtually all the Cancun flights leave Terminal C so time permitted will,pop in here. One World Emerald and travelling Flagship First from London.

Yeah I don’t know what they were thinking. I deleted the app a while ago. I honestly probably would have stayed with them because I like the tap my location to find a hotel close by. They removed it! Now I get 10X flight points with my CC and couldn’t be happier. Yeah the locked in website is junk lol but I’ll do a little work for that many points.

The Sapphire Reserve is the card for me. It has all the benefits I’m looking for plus the travel partners. Plus I like that the credit can be applied to places like the travel portal and Expedia, because these are where I’m most likely to book. Thanks for this great breakdown!

I was just approved for Autograph Journey with CL of $19k. I have upcoming hotel booking for ~$2500. Was trying to get this hotel via Citi and Chase portals (and use points for that), but booking directly with hotel was much cheaper, even if I cash points at 1cpp, so I decided to get this card. And it also makes most of other hotel branded cards obsolete, except maybe Hilton Aspire and Wyndham Business. It will exceed earnings on Hyatt, Marriott, IHG cards, and will earn the same points as Choice Select card, since those are transferable from WF at 1:2 ratio.

Autograph Journey would be great for booking hotels, since no other card gives you 5x on hotels except Custom Cash, but it's limited to $500, and multiples will not help you sometimes, if it's not possible to split the payment. You don't need it for airlines, since you have Prestige.

I would definitely keep Altitude Reserve, get rid of Gold, downgrade Premier to Custom cash.

Do you think 120K sub with 10K spend is pretty solid ? Or have you seen higher sub in the past for this card ?

It is May. 2024 and Avianca released 2 new credit cards. The cards are issued by Cardless and use the Amex network.

I've done cash advances 3 times. One time I did it just to generate a reported balance for my credit reports. I did it right before the statement date, and paid the balance to zero as soon as the statement posted. It was less than $100. Two other times I did it when I accidentally overpaid my account and had a negative balance. I transferred the cash advance directly to my checking account, making the credit card balance $0. A slightly different topic... I currently have a deliberate negative $-50 balance on one of my hotel cards. That has triggered me not being charged a $150 annual fee. That's an experiment I like!

I have the CSP and the Venture X. I love the Venture X. The issue is the lounges and now that NYC will have a Reserve lounge at both JFK and LGA, I’m debating upgrading. I have priority pass with Venture X but we all know there are issues and major changes will be coming through the pipe

My setup is pretty simple this quarter: I’m using the Chase Freedom Flex for the Q2 categories plus 5x on gas and grocery since I opened it in February. I also using the Chase Sapphire Preferred so I can hit the 85,000 point sign up bonus!

When using your capital one card overseas, do you have any issues with using your card paying for items at certain stores? I ran into an issue with a credit card company where it would work sometimes, and other times, it didn't.

Update: The Chase Sapphire Reserve has an increased sign up offer of 75,000 points!!! The Chase Freedom Flex also has an increased offer where you can earn 10x back at grocery stores on up to $12,000 per year!!!

Thanks for the info, so when they switched your free night to the new programme, i assume you did not lose out on the value of that reward night? I currently have 4 reward nights totalling £400 between them so i just want to ensure if i am going to lose out with the change, that i use them before July.

I’ve heard mixed from different people. But I would 100% cancel the aspire. I’ve been upgraded a total of twice in 4 years holding this card. Granted most of my travel is domestic, I’ve stayed at many higher end properties and have been told there is no upgrades with no people in sight. The food and beverage credit also is a hassle most times if you travel with more than 1 person. I’ve very rarely have this experience with Marriotts.

Honestly, I've sworn off Wells Fargo until their culture and their customer service gets better. I had them for 10 years and every time I needed their assistance they were really hard to work with. I am much better off with other banks

I’d definitely get it for one yr if I was in your position, since the Autograph can still give you access to travel partners if you cancelled the Journey. The USBAR could be downgraded to the now no AF Connect & I totally see why you’d cancel the Gold. Great video 👍🏽.
